Doi Shorshe Murgi

Here's a simple Doi Shorshe Murgi recipe: (Shorshe Posto Chicken)



  • Sunrise Shorshe - Posto Powder (3 Tbsp)
  • Chicken (400 g)
  • Finely Chopped Onion (1 Large)
  • Turmeric Powder (1 Tsp for marination)
  • Green Chillies (3 - 4)
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Ginger Paste (1 Tsp)
  • Garlic Paste (1 Tsp)
  • Mustard Oil (30 ml)
  • Sour Curd (1/2 Cup)
  • Sugar (As per taste)
  • Salt (To Taste)
  • Water (As required)


  1. Marinate the chicken with Shorshe Posto paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, sour curd, ginger, garlic paste and salt. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat mustard oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add ginger and garlic paste, and cook until the raw smell disappears.
  4. Add the marinated chicken and cook on medium heat until the chicken is sealed and the masala is well-coated.
  5. Pour in a cup of water, cover the pan, and simmer until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Adjust salt and add sliced green chilies for extra heat.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
